USB to CAN interface
Model code: IPEH-002021 Manufacturer: PEAK-System (HMS)
The PCAN-USB is a compact adapter that connects a Windows or Linux PC to CAN networks (High-speed CAN, ISO 11898-2, CAN 2.0A/B) over USB. It supports bit rates from 5 kbit/s to 1 Mbit/s and has a D-Sub 9 connector (CiA 106) on the CAN side. It is powered from the USB port, and the plastic housing suits mobile use. An opto-decoupled variant (IPEH-002022) with galvanic isolation up to 500 V is also available. The package includes the PCAN-View CAN monitor for Windows and the PCAN-Basic programming interface. This is a general-purpose CAN interface for engineering work, not a ready-made vehicle diagnostic tool. OEM diagnostic software and licences are not included.

General-purpose USB to CAN interface (High-speed CAN, ISO 11898-2, CAN 2.0A/B, 5 kbit/s to 1 Mbit/s). PEAK-System does not publish a list of supported vehicle makes, models or years for this product, so no vehicles are listed in the compatibility section. The adapter connects a PC to any CAN network through a D-Sub 9 connector (CiA 106); a vehicle needs a suitable cable or adapter. Included: PCAN-View (CAN monitor, Windows), PCAN-Basic API and APIs for automotive protocols; the manufacturer also offers separate PCAN-OBD-2, PCAN-UDS, PCAN-ISO-TP and PCAN-PassThru APIs as downloads. Brand-specific diagnostic functions (coding, resets, service functions) are not included and depend on third-party software.
