The PCAN-USB Pro FD connects CAN FD and LIN networks to a computer over High-speed USB 2.0. It has two D-Sub connectors, each usable for CAN FD or LIN, so two fieldbus connections can run at once (up to four with suitable adapter cables). CAN FD supports ISO and non-ISO modes, bit rates up to 1 Mbit/s nominal and 12 Mbit/s in the data field. LIN runs at 1 to 20 kbit/s in master or slave mode (up to LIN 2.2). Each CAN channel is galvanically isolated up to 500 V. The aluminium housing suits mobile use. PCAN-View, PLIN-View Pro, PCAN-Basic and PLIN-API are included. This is a general-purpose interface, not a ready-made vehicle diagnostic tool. OEM diagnostic software and licences are not included.

Brand-specific diagnostic functions (coding, resets, service functions) are not included and depend on third-party software.
