Is there a way I can update/flash my (2014 Range Rover Sport 5.0 v8 Autobiography Dynamic's) Instrument Cluster splash/start up logo to the SVR splash/start up Logo ?
Yes — an SVR-style display on the digital instrument cluster is a realistic goal for a 2014 Range Rover Sport L494. However, I would not assume that SDD 168 and a single CCF change can enable it on your particular car.
CCF or firmware?
I would check the CCF first, rather than flash software from an SVR cluster. The CCF describes the vehicle’s configuration; it does not contain the graphics themselves. If your cluster’s existing software already includes the SVR theme, the right configuration change might enable it. If the graphics are absent, changing the CCF alone will not add them.
Your idea of flashing SVR cluster software onto the original cluster is a possibility, but not a confirmed procedure. Two clusters can look identical while having different part numbers, hardware versions or software compatibility. I would not assume SDD will let you select and install SVR firmware on a non-SVR cluster.
What about the centre screen?
I would treat the centre-screen startup logo as a separate question. Enabling an SVR theme on the instrument cluster would not necessarily change the infotainment screen. That depends on the infotainment system and its software.
How I would approach it
- Use SDD 168 to record the part number and software version of your instrument cluster (IPC) and identify the infotainment module. Back up the original CCF and save a full fault scan.
- Compare your IPC with one from a similar-year SVR, including the hardware and software versions—not just the fact that both have digital displays.
- Ask an L494 retrofit specialist whether the SVR theme can be activated on your existing IPC, whether different software or hardware is required, and whether they can also change the centre-screen logo.
- Only consider a CCF write or firmware flash once compatibility and a recovery method are clear. I would not flash an SVR file as a trial, especially without stable power and a way to restore the cluster.
In short, the SVR look on the cluster may be achievable, but I cannot confirm that your car needs an SVR firmware flash—or that a CCF change alone will do it. Verify the exact IPC first, and investigate the centre screen separately.
I have opened up the CCF file for my car backed up the as-built files and then logged in with seed key generator so I had access to edit the file.
There was a parameter with the description of (RACING SUB BRAND) and in this values drop down box there was a option called SVR-RS
I have selected this and saved the new edited CCF back to the car but it has not changed the start up logo and has just stayed the same.
It's like the option is available to select but because the SVR was not released until 2015, I think the module itself lacks the actual graphics I am trying to set
So if that makes it a bit more clear for you on where I am at with this.
Do you any reconmendations on who I maybe able to contact for retro fit info etc... or do you have any other ideas after this further information given
thanks

That makes the situation much clearer 👍 . I would not jump straight to flashing SVR firmware. The result shows that this setting alone was insufficient; it does not yet tell us whether the graphics are missing, the cluster has not taken up the new configuration, or that parameter simply does not control the startup screen on your 2014 IPC.
There is an important distinction here: a specialist lists an SVR skin for the instrument cluster as an available service for petrol Range Rover Sport 2014–2016 models. Another provider advertises a separate startup badge/logo change affecting the cluster and touchscreen, but its listing does not establish that both screens can be changed on your specific 2014 system. I would ask about the startup animation explicitly, not just the SVR-style gauges.
Checks before any flash
- Read the CCF back from the car and confirm that SVR-RS is still stored. This separates “the write succeeded” from “the display responded to it.”
- Let the vehicle shut down fully, then check the next cold startup. If the setting persists but nothing changes, record that result for the retrofit specialist.
- Record the IPC’s part number, hardware version and software version in SDD 168, plus the infotainment module details. Those identifiers are more useful than the fact that the displays look like the SVR’s.
- Check whether the instrument layout/skin changed at all, separately from the brief startup logo. If neither changed, tell the specialist that too.
- Keep the original CCF backed up, and avoid trying SVR firmware files until someone has confirmed compatibility with your exact IPC and a recovery path.
Your theory about an earlier cluster lacking the graphics is plausible, but it is still only a theory (sorry about that). A dropdown in a CCF editor can show a value that a particular module or software version does not use. Conversely, the SVR skin might be present but require a different activation procedure. I could not verify a specific firmware file or an SDD 168 procedure that safely converts a 2014 non-SVR IPC to SVR.
Who to contact
LR-CHIP is the most directly relevant lead I found. Its Range Rover Sport 2014–2016 service page specifically lists an SVR instrument-cluster skin for petrol cars. Its contact page lists a UK branch in Maidstone and phone number 0784 0000 321. Ask whether it can work with your existing digital IPC, and whether its service changes only the gauge skin or also the startup logo.
You could also ask Lock50 about its startup badge/logo service. Its advertised service mentions both cluster and touchscreen, but get written confirmation for a 2014 L494 and your specific module versions before paying; the general listing is not proof of compatibility.
I would send them this concise description:
I have a 2014 Range Rover Sport L494 5.0 Supercharged with the factory digital instrument cluster. Using SDD 168, I backed up the As-Built CCF, changed “Racing Sub Brand” to “SVR-RS”, and wrote the CCF to the car. The setting [does/does not] persist when read back, but the cluster startup logo remains unchanged. Can you enable the SVR startup logo on my existing IPC, or does it require different IPC software or hardware? Is the centre-screen startup logo possible separately? I can provide the IPC and infotainment part numbers and software versions.
The read-back result and IPC identifiers are the two pieces of information I’d gather next. They should let a specialist give you a much more meaningful answer than “try an SVR flash.” I hope it helps 🙂
Good luck.
Ok Thankyou
I will give it ago thanks for the help and advice
