Xhorse VVDI Prog is a PC-based programmer for reading and writing EEPROM, MCU, ECU, immobilizer and dashboard data on the bench. It supports a wide range of chips (e.g. NEC, MPC, Infineon, Motorola/Freescale) with self-test and a smart operation mode that lists possible causes of errors, and reads BMW ISN (with the Bosch ECU adapter for N20/N55/N38 DME without opening). Data editing tools include buffer copy/paste/search, file compare and read/write/erase with verify. Connects to a Windows PC by USB (external power prompt when needed); firmware is updated with the Xhorse Update Kit, free of charge. The newer Xhorse Multi-Prog adds ECU/TCU cloning, checksum correction and batch programming. Mileage (odometer) correction is legal only to restore the correct reading after a cluster repair or replacement; never use it to alter a vehicle's true mileage. Some functions require paid activations, licences or tokens from Xhorse; coverage depends on the vehicle, immobilizer system and software version. OEM software and licences are not included.

Xhorse does not publish model or year lists; coverage is listed at make level from 1996 based on the brands and modules named on Xhorse product pages. Always check the exact vehicle in the Xhorse app / software menu before buying. Paid activations, licences and tokens are separate purchases. VVDI Prog is a chip / EEPROM / MCU programmer; only BMW ISN reading and EWS / CAS data are named per make. The supported chip list and adapters (M35080, EWS3, Bosch ECU adapter) are sold and listed separately by Xhorse.
