Bluetooth OBD2 scanner for iOS & Android - check engine codes, live data and custom dashboards
Manufacturer: Veepeak
Veepeak OBDCheck BLE is a compact Bluetooth OBD2 adapter that turns your iPhone, iPad or Android phone into a code reader and live-data scanner. Plug it into the car's OBD2 port, connect from inside a compatible app and you can read and clear check engine light codes, view freeze frame data and I/M (smog) readiness, and watch real-time sensor data on customizable dashboards. It also helps estimate fuel economy.
The adapter has no screen or app of its own – it works with third-party apps such as Car Scanner, OBD Fusion, Torque (Android) and vehicle-specific apps like BimmerCode, BimmerLink, OBD JScan and Dr. Prius. What you can do depends on the app you choose; some apps or features are paid.
Connection: Bluetooth LE for iOS and Android plus Classic Bluetooth for Android and Windows – no Wi-Fi, so your phone keeps its internet connection. Connect from inside the app, not from the phone's Bluetooth menu. Android car head units may not be supported.
Vehicle coverage (generic OBD2 functions: read VIN, read/clear fault codes, live data, freeze frame, I/M readiness, ECU information): most OBD2/EOBD-compliant cars and light trucks – USA 1996+, Canada 1998+, EU 2001+ petrol / 2004+ diesel, Australia 2006+ petrol / 2007+ diesel, Mexico 2006+, China 2009+ petrol / 2011+ diesel. Not supported: OBD-I vehicles, motorcycles, heavy-duty commercial vehicles, most electric vehicles (only selected EVs with dedicated apps such as EVScanner or ABRP), and some 2024+ Ford / 2026+ Honda models using the WWH-OBD protocol. Hybrid support depends on the app.
Not supported with generic apps: ABS/SRS diagnostics, oil light or service resets, EPB/brake reset, relearn and adaptation functions (some are possible only with vehicle-specific apps). MS-CAN and SW-CAN are not supported (e.g. no MS-CAN in FORScan or AlfaOBD). Not compatible with Carly, MHD, xHP, ProTool or bootmod3.
Specifications: ELM327 v1.5 command set, 9–16 V operating voltage, max 45 mA current, -40 to 85 °C operating temperature, 50 × 41 × 22 mm, approx. 60 g. In the box: OBDCheck BLE adapter, carrying case, user manual.

Veepeak
Veepeak is a US-based brand of automotive diagnostic tools for car owners, DIY mechanics and enthusiasts. Its tagline is "Connect Your Vehicle, Enjoy Your Drive." The company makes compact, plug-and-play OBD2 scan tools that let drivers check and diagnose their cars at home or on the road, which saves time and money on workshop visits.
Its best-known products are the OBDCheck adapters. They plug into the vehicle's OBD2 port and connect to a smartphone or tablet over Bluetooth, so users can read and clear check engine light codes, watch live sensor data and build custom virtual dashboards. The range includes:
Wireless OBD2 adapters: OBDCheck BLE, a favourite among DIY mechanics, and OBDCheck BLE+, the advanced version for enthusiasts.
Standalone and wired scan tools: for example VP59, a diagnostic tool that works without a smartphone.
Tools and accessories: for example BT24, a Bluetooth car battery tester for iOS and Android.
Veepeak adapters don't come with just one app. They work with popular third-party apps such as Car Scanner, OBD Fusion, Torque (Android), BimmerCode, OBD JScan and Dr. Prius. This lets users choose the software that best fits their vehicle and needs. They support the standard OBD2 protocols and work with most vehicles sold in the US since 1996 (Canada since 1998).
The company says it is committed to "developing quality products backed by friendly, responsive service."
