Description

KONNWEI KW880 is a 3-in-1 tool: full OBD2 / EOBD engine scanner, conductance battery tester and battery matching. Battery matching resets the battery monitoring system after a battery or battery sensor is replaced, so the car stops reporting old low-battery information.

OBD2 functions:
• Read and erase generic and manufacturer-specific trouble codes (including pending codes) and turn off the Check Engine Light (MIL)
• Built-in DTC definition library
• I/M (emissions) readiness status

Battery tester:
• Tests 12V cranking batteries: regular flooded, AGM flat plate, AGM spiral, gel and EFB
• Measures voltage, internal resistance (mΩ), cold cranking amps and state of health / charge; result Good / Recharge / Replace
• Cranking test and charging system test, voltage waveform
• Standards: CCA, BCI, CA, MCA, JIS, DIN, IEC, EN, SAE (100–2000 CCA)

Battery match:
• Battery registration / adaptation after battery or sensor replacement (depends on the vehicle)

Range of Diagnose:
Works on 1996 and newer OBD2 / EOBD compliant 12V petrol and diesel cars and light trucks (US 1996+, EU petrol 2001+ / diesel 2004+, Asian vehicles) with the 16-pin diagnostic connector. Supports all OBD2 protocols: CAN, KWP2000, ISO 9141-2, J1850 PWM and J1850 VPW. Battery tester: 8–16V batteries.

Compatibility disclosure

Generic OBD2 / EOBD engine and emission diagnostics on 12 V cars and light trucks with the 16-pin connector (KONNWEI states: American cars after 1999, European cars after 2002, Japanese and Korean cars after 2007, Chinese cars after 2009). The car must be OBD2 / EOBD compliant – check the "Vehicle Emission Control Information" sticker under the hood for "OBD II Certified"; cars with the private Japanese JOBD protocol (e.g. some Nissan units) are not supported. KONNWEI states it does not work with SsangYong, Lada / VAZ / UAZ, Opel Corsa C 2004 1.3 CDTI, Citroën C4 and C5, Renault Logan and Megane. The KONNWEI manuals give only "all 1996 and newer vehicles sold in the USA". Engine system only – no ABS, SRS, transmission or body systems. Built-in conductance battery tester for 6/8–16 V lead-acid, AGM, gel and EFB batteries (any vehicle). Battery matching (BMS reset): KONNWEI does not publish the supported makes / models. Not supported: OBD-I vehicles, motorcycles, 24 V trucks and buses (J1939), hybrid / electric drive systems.
