Zenith Z5 is the first scan tool of the EZDS Zenith Z series: a rugged, lightweight (680 g) 8-inch FHD Android 9 tablet with an octa-core 2.0 GHz processor, 3 GB RAM, 32 GB storage, microSD slot, 3200 mAh battery and 8 MP camera. The touchscreen can be used with work gloves. It runs on 9-30 V DC, so it can be connected to 12 V and 24 V systems, and supports bi-directional communication with commercial trucks and buses. Functions include automatic vehicle selection with VIN detection, quick system search, service functions, live data with fast auto-scaling graphing mode, full-text DTC descriptions, pre- and post-scan reports (PDF, e-mail or wireless printing), a data log and feedback system for sending error logs to the support team, smart software updates with the option to download previous or latest versions per car line, and J2534 pass-thru for ECU programming on multiple car lines (exceptions may apply). Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Ethernet are built in. A CAN FD and DoIP adapter and OBD adapters for older vehicles are available separately. Supported vehicles and functions depend on the installed software; check the manufacturer's vehicle coverage list.

EZDS does not publish a list of supported makes, models or model years. The makes shown here come from the carline software list in EZDS distributor bulletins and the software-update screen, entered at make level from 1996 - check your VIN with the seller before buying. Which Service-tab functions (oil, EPB, SAS, battery reset, brake bleeding, ADAS) and special functions work depends on the carline and model; the manual states the list is predefined by each carmaker. Trucks and buses (Hino, Fuso, Isuzu, Hyundai, Kia, Foton, Tata, Mercedes) need the matching 24 V truck cable and have basic diagnostics only. Z5: J2534 pass-thru works over USB with the carmaker OEM software (OEM data is not included). The Z5 has no topology scan and no EV/hybrid battery (BMS) view. Not mapped to specific makes: hidden/customization features, key or immobilizer functions, ECU coding.
