Description

KONNWEI KW480 is a full system diagnostic scanner for BMW and Mini vehicles (including F-chassis). It covers engine (DME / DDE), transmission (EGS), ABS, SRS, SAS, CAS, CBS, instruments, electronic parking brake and other control units, plus common service functions.

Product Functions (BMW / Mini):
• Full system code reading / clearing
• Service functions: CBS reset, oil light reset, SAS, EPB, battery registration, DPF regeneration, ECU reset and more (depends on the vehicle)

The tool also works as a universal OBD2 / EOBD engine scanner on other 1996+ OBD2 vehicles (read / erase codes, I/M readiness, live data, freeze frame, O2 sensor and EVAP tests, vehicle information).

Make-specific full system diagnostics for BMW (Mini only per the Amazon listing). KONNWEI gives no model years or model list for the make-specific part – entered from 1996; check your vehicle (VIN) before buying. Service functions marked "catalogue" are listed in the KONNWEI 2026 catalogue for the KW420–KW480 family but are not described in this model's user manual. Other makes: generic OBD2 / EOBD engine diagnostics only (KONNWEI states: American cars after 1999, European cars after 2002, Japanese and Korean cars after 2007, Chinese cars after 2009). The car must be OBD2 / EOBD compliant – check the "Vehicle Emission Control Information" sticker under the hood for "OBD II Certified"; cars with the private Japanese JOBD protocol (e.g. some Nissan units) are not supported. KONNWEI states it does not work with SsangYong, Lada / VAZ / UAZ, Opel Corsa C 2004 1.3 CDTI, Citroën C4 and C5, Renault Logan and Megane. Not supported: OBD-I vehicles, motorcycles, 24 V trucks and buses (J1939), hybrid / electric drive systems.
